The Thomas Hardye School is a 13-18 mixed comprehensive school with 2300 on roll including 800 in the Sixth Form. It is a part of the Wessex Multi Academy Trust. Administrative Officer (Attendance)

Contract:

16.5 hours per week worked over 3 days – term time only, plus inset days
Salary: Grade 4, Point 4 (£12.65 per hour) with scope for progression subject to assessment. £9,361 per annum pro rata for part-time hours (£24,404 per annum full-time equivalent)

We are seeking to appointment an Administrative Officer to support the attendance office in school. The successful applicant will be responsible for recording reported absences and lesson tracking. Responsibilities will also include data entry, communication with parents, and pre-populating registers.

You will work under the direct supervision of the School Attendance Manager.

  • A clear and confident communicator.
  • A team player who is happy to support different colleagues as required.
  • Excellent organisational skills and an attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a school environment would be an advantage.

Job Description 

Kitchen Assistant XS2.2

Contract:

38.33 hours per week. 7.00am to 3.00pm Mon – Fri, with a 20-minute unpaid break each day.

Working weeks are term-time only (37.2 weeks p/a).

4-month Contract from 1st September 2025 to 31st December 2025.

Salary: Grade 1, £12.26 per hour (£20,107 actual salary for term-time working.  Full-time equivalent salary is £23,656.

We are seeking to appointment a Kitchen Assistant to support our busy school canteen between 7.00am and 3.00pm five days per week.  The successful applicant will assist with preparation, cooking and serving of food.  The role will also involve cleaning and tidying of the kitchen and serving area. Please see the attached job description for further details.

You will work under the direct supervision, and full training will be provided.

We require:

  • A team player who is happy to support different colleagues as required.
  • Someone who can demonstrate attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety procedures.
  • Experience working in a school kitchen would be an advantage.

Job Description 

Caretaker

Contract:

Full-time. This is a 37 hour per week contract, and includes school holidays in addition to term-time.

Salary: Grade 4. £24,404 with possible increments to £24,790.

We are seeking to appoint a caretaker to join our school Site Team. The successful applicant will work under the supervision of the Site Manager. Duties and responsibilities will be varied, and will include overall site security, safety and tidiness, assisting with repairs and maintenance, distribution of deliveries, and maintaining supplies, consumables and cleanliness in toilets. You will usually work under supervision, and will have defined processes and procedures to follow.

We require someone:

  • With previous experience of health and safety procedures and/or supervision of premises.
  • Who is a team player, willing to help with a wide range of duties and activities that fall under the job description.
  • With a basic level of IT skills, as maintaining electronic records is a key part of the job.
  • Physically fit, as the job involves lifting and carrying, and you will be working on your feet for the majority of the day.

Handyperson skills such as experience in using a range of tools, and simple painting and decorating would be an advantage.

Job Description 

Cover Supervisor (XS10.7)

Contract:

31.5 hours per week – term time only, plus 3 inset days

Salary: Grade 7, Point 8 (£13.47 per hour) with scope for progression subject to assessment. £18,449 per annum pro rata for part-time hours (£25,992 per annum full-time equivalent)

We are seeking to appoint a cover supervisor who will be responsible for supervising lessons during the short-term absence of the normal class teacher.  You will be required to cover any subject, but work will be set in advance.  Previous experience of working in the classroom would be an advantage, but training and support will be provided.  The post may be of interest for those wishing to gain experience prior to a career in teaching. You will work under the direct supervision of the School Attendance Manager.

We require someone with:

  • A genuine interest in young people and their learning
  • The ability to communicate clearly and confidently
  • Flexibility and a sense of humour
  • Qualifications at least to Level 2 or the equivalent
  • The ability to cover physical education lessons would be an advantage.

Job Description
