Remote Desktops Help

The Virtual Desktops use VMware Horizon View to provide access to the school network, just as though you are using a computer within school.

VMware Horizon View allows you to connect to a school desktop using most types of computer or tablet and this quick start guide will help get you up and running quickly.

The quickest way to access a Virtual Desktop is by using the 'Web Client', which will allow you to access a virtual desktop via your web browser. If you don't intend to use this facility very often the Web Client is the way to go.

If you plan to use a Virtual Desktop regularly, it is recommended that you install the 'Native Client' on your computer (see tabs above) as it is faster in use and offers more features.

Native Client software is available for Windows, OSX and Linux, as well as iOS and Android. It can be installed on staff laptops if requested or you can still use your own computer if you prefer. There is no Native Client for Google Chromebooks, but the Web Client works perfectly well in the Chromebook browser.

Please click on the tab above that matches the type of client or device you want to use.
