The Thomas Hardye School

Student Voice support Refugee Aid

Presentation

Sophie and Alice handover the socks to Mike Hearn of Blandford CARES

The Thomas Hardye Student Voice recently made a presentation of brand new socks to Mike Hearn of Blandford CARES (Collecting Aid for Refugees Europe & Sudan). This charity provides clothing to the refugees in Calais who sleep rough in the area after the clearing of the 'Jungle'. At leastb 750 people are sleeping in fields and woods, with the winter coming fast. They provide socks, shoes, coats and sleeping bags and are always looking for more stock.

Our Student Voice decided to do something about this. And thanks to SV member Alice, who works for Dorset School Wear and was able to procure a supply of socks from their discontinued lines the school wer able to help.
