THS Sports Update

Rugby Team

Wow. What a first term of sport for THS PE with amazing extracurricular results throughout all year groups. The rugby season kicked started with the 1st XV progressing through to the fourth round of the NatWest Cup beating Woodroffe, Wellington, Colyton Grammer and Kingsbridge; all away matches. Good luck for the next round.

The U14’s formed a strong team with over 30 students regularly attending training and have won most of their first batch of matches. Sixth Form Boys Football is going from strength to strength with their team still in both the national and county cup competitions. The U16 Girls Football have beaten Poole High 1-0 and recently got knocked out of the national cup losing 3-2 to QE but what a close matched game.

The hockey season has kick started and our U14 girls winning their first game against Bryanston after only being recently formed. It is the U15’s girls turn this week. The girl’s success continues with Netball with the U16’s being crowned area champions progressing through to the county finals. Finally, we have other success from Cross Country, Equestrian, Bowls and British Shooting. Let’s see what next half term brings……
