Students have had a busy start to the year with two NSEA events in February and one in March all being held at Moreton EC. The first on the 05 February 2017 NSEA Show Jumping saw Zoe Kibbey, Deborah Blaire, Charlie Ainsworth, Molly Russell, Rosie Russell, Connor Pullin, George Rogers and Georgia Edwards taking part in the 80cm 90cm 1m & 1.10m classes. Two teams competed in the 90cm class and while no team placing George Rogers jumped a good clear round to pick up sixth place individually.   This was the same for the 1m class and George again picked up a good 5th place.  Rosie Russell competed in the 1.10m individual qualifier on 3 different horses picking up a 4th, 3rd and 2nd placings and qualifying for the County Championships to be held in April.

Our second event for the month was the NSEA Eventers Challenge on the 25th February 2017, which tests competitors over a set course of 6-7 Show Jumps followed by simulated cross country fences.  Always proving a lot of fun for the riders.

Our 80cm team of Deborah Blaire, Chalrie Ainsworth & Connor Pullin jumped well to pick up a team 6th and an individual 5th place for Charlie.
Two teams competed in the 90cm class with team A of Connor Pullin, Deborah Blaire George Rogers and Molly Russell and Team B consisting of Rosie Russell, Molly Russell, Connor Pullin and Izzy Whitty.   All jumped well over a testing course with Rosie, Molly, Connor and Izzy gaining a  4th   place  in the team event and two individual placings for Molly of 2nd & 5th.  Molly’s 2nd place qualified her for the championships at Hickstead.  Again two teams competed in the 1m class with Rosie, Molly & Izzy coming fourth and Connor, George, Rosie and Molly gaining a 3rd place.  George also gained an individual 5th place,

Our third event this spring was the Moreton-Russell One Day Event.  Riders compete in dressage, show jumping and cross country. This events runs an NSEA Regional Points League section for teams and individuals where schools gain points throughout the academic year at various events. Our 90cm Team of Connor Pullin, George Rogers, Georgia Edwards and Deborah Blaire enjoyed their day coming 4th.  Rosie and Molly Russell competed individually with Molly gaining a 9th place.
