Year 9 student reaches finals of National Competition

Kai

Kai Trevett in 9EM has reached the national finals of the Teflon Dining Schools, “Keen new cook” award part of the Diamond Standard Awards 2017 at the Waitrose Cookery School, Finchley Road, London on Wednesday 25th January.

As part of the competition Kai had to cook a dessert and write a paragraph about himself and his future ambitions. Kai sent in a spiced Dorset Apple Traybake. He had to ensure that the nutritional values were just right which took a lot of practice. Kai said about the final “I am a bit nervous about what the other contestants might cook, but I am excited because I am doing something that I really enjoy. Obviously there is quite a bit of pressure with what I am cooking being judged by people,.”

We wish Kai all the best in this competition and congratulate him on his achievement.

Kai unfortunately didn't win at the finals, but did incredibly well and produced some fantastic dishes.
