The Thomas Hardye School

Students College Achievements Recognised

Award winners

419 students have been presented with certificates for outstanding achievement this year. Certificates are given out for Bronze, Silver and Gold awards depending on the amount of tokens they have achieved. We also presented the students photographed with the Headteacher’s Award. Over the course of this academic year these students have excelled in all aspects of school life. They have been awarded the most tokens in Years 9 and 10 respectively, which are awarded for excellent effort, superb homework, 100% attendance, and great participation in lessons. As a result Mr Foley presented them with the Headteacher’s Award to say congratulations on such a sustained effort over the course of the year.

The following students achieved this

Year 9: Thomas Brookes, Katie Armstrong, Thomas Peach, Jade Briant, Taylor MacNewman, Viola Turberville-Smith, Victor Yuan and Theo Hall

Year 10: Emma Challoner, Sarah Horsler, Joseph Thompson, Jonathan Samways and Rhiannon Bennett.

Napier College have dominated this year’s college competitions. Throughout the year students have been recognised for their hardwork in class through the tokens, which they pipped Stratford College into second place.

The quiz, run every Friday morning, was also won by Napier College, and special mention must go to 11THE as a tutor group that were a “tour de force” every week. Henning College came in second place.

The Sports Cup was very tight this year, with all colleges having an area that they did particularly well in, but once the scores were combined it was Napier College who were victorious again.

The Scholars Cup was the one area where Napier College did not win. Academic competitions run throughout all academic areas, was won by Trenchard College.

Overall however, Napier also won the combined feat of the College Cup, winning four out of the 5 cups available. An excellent effort across the board, and with Mr Dean (Head of Napier) stepping aside to become Assistant Headteacher, there are some big trophy cabinets to fill for the incoming Mr Hardinge.
