The Thomas Hardye School

THS Student wins through to Rotary Chef Regional Final

Chef Competition

Last Saturday, one of our talented year 11 Food GCSE students, Katie Platt,  took part in the district final of the Rotary Young Chef competition, representing both Thomas Hardye School and Casterbridge Rotary Club.

She travelled down to the Mark Hix Academy at Weymouth college to compete against nine other students. Cooking a three course meal in under two hours, for less than £15.  This she managed with great skill, calmness and flair, working in an unfamiliar kitchen,  produciing a professionally cooked  meal which tasted amazing.  All her hard work paid off, as her flavours and presentation wowed the judges, meaning she was one of three students chosen to go through to the next round, which is the Regional final being held in Paignton on March 12.

Congratulations to Katie for her hard work and determination, and lots of luck in the next round!
