The Thomas Hardye School is a 13-18 mixed comprehensive school with 2300 on roll including 800 in the Sixth Form. It is a part of the Wessex Multi Academy Trust.  We can offer excellent working conditions, a supportive environment and plenty of opportunity for further development at one of the most successful comprehensive schools in the country.  The superb facilities include an on-site nursery and a new sports complex with subsidised membership for staff.

CAREERS ADVICE AND GUIDANCE MANAGER (xs205B)
Permanent, term-time plus 2 weeks

We require an outstanding professional to lead the Wessex Multi-Academy Trust on their strategy careers education.  The successful candidate will need to deliver, support and facilitate the best possible careers advice and guidance to all young people in year 7 and above in all trust schools.  In taking lead responsibility, you will ensure that all schools are working towards the Gatsby benchmarks coordinating the work of colleagues within schools to enact successful strategies for implementation.

You will already hold relevant qualifications in careers guidance or have experience of delivery in schools.  You will be prepared to undertake further training to achieve the necessary professional standards if you need to do so.  You will possess excellent communication skills and a strong desire to provide the best possible experience for young people preparing for the workplace.  You will be confident to give presentations to large audiences, to work with small teams of other professionals and to give one-to-one careers advice to young people.

The post is based in Dorchester, but you will be required to visit other school sites so a driving licence is essential.

FINANCE AND BUSINESS MANAGER, The Thomas Hardye School XS 9.6
Permanent, Part-Time (28 hours a week)
Grade 11, actual £23,740-£27,906 per annum (full time equivalent £31,371-£36,876)

We require an experienced manager with business and finance expertise to lead the support staff team at The Thomas Hardye School.  The successful candidate will work within the wider multi-academy trust team to ensure that the school is compliant and working applying all the necessary regulations in the Academies Financial Handbook, including accurate financial recording and reporting.  You will have line-management responsibilities for the finance team and the wider support staff team and you will support all budget holders to follow best practice and achieve best value.  As part of the school leadership team you will be expected to play a part in the wider-decision making processes in the school and present to governors and other staff, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.  You will have an accountancy qualification (level 4 or above) and experience of accounting practice and business management
