TEACHING ASSISTANT – XS10.4b    June 2019 start
30 hours per week – term time only
Grade 5, Point 4 (old point 13) £9.55 per hour
£18,426 per annum with possible increments to £19,171 (pro rata: £12,624 - £13,135)

We require a Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding team at The Thomas Hardye School to work with students aged 13-18, with learning and/or physical difficulties.  You will be required to work in our Physical Needs Base attending to the personal care and welfare needs of a small group of students aged 13-18 with a variety of disabilities.  The post involves delivering Physiotherapy programmes and supporting in the classroom.  Previous experience with administering personal care is desirable, however full training will be given on all aspects of the role.

  • Enthusiastic and committed to the learning needs of all young people
  • Good at building relationships with young people and other adults
  • Qualified at least to level 2 (grade C or above at GCSE) in English and Maths
  • Able to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality
  • Adaptable, flexible, proactive and relentlessly optimistic

Assistant Cook (XS2.5)

Grade 3, £9.18 per hour, £18,065 with possible increments to £18,426 (pro rata £14633 to £14926)
Monday to Friday term time only plus training days and holiday pay, (39 working weeks, 44.65 weeks paid per year).  Preferred hours are 8am – 3pm (35 hours per week)

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly-motivated, enthusiastic chef/cook to join us as Assistant Cook.  The school operates a dedicated sixth-form canteen as well as a lower-school facility, where several hundred students and staff are catered for daily.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for food, together with the ability to work as part of a team in delivering a high quality service across the school.  We are proud of our innovative and creative menus with a focus on healthy eating, and would value your input on developing them still further.  The school has been working closely with The School Food Plan recommendations – you should be familiar with their content.
